Meet Naomi. She recently turned 3 . She loves to play with plastic dishes, baby dolls, Barbies, and Polly Pockets, but most of all she loved to randomly change her clothes; all day long. In this picture, She has a discarded her pjs for a 70’s style floral knit top, ruffled demin skirt, and brown leggings. It’s 8:05 am and the day has just begun.
At 10:17 am she adds a black angora hat, a red Christmas- theme felt bag, and wheeled lavendar luggage. Very VonTrapp-ish, I think.
Here she is at 10:41 am. The demin and leggings just aren’t working. This lovely cotton peasant skirt with ivory pointelle tights is “ready for summer.” Notice the tossed- away felt bag in the foreground.
Nine minutes later, Naomi realizes that bare piggies are just not practical and slips on her poodles.
It’s 11:49 am, time to stuff Sam into his snow clothes and backpack him for school. While hanging out with Mom in the mudroom, Naomi discovers a pair of plastic ice skates, and slips them on. Perfect for a winter day!
After Sam leaves for school and Naomi has lunch, she lays down for a nap, and our fashion show paused for a couple of hours. She wakes from her rest, spends some time relaxing with her sibs; and at 5:27 pm, suprises us with a completely new outfit. Part of her cruise line, this polka dot baby doll tank and periwinkle capris look spectacular with her poodles. Doesn’t it just shout, “Take me away!” ?
Ah, but alas, one should never be without a basic cable knit cream sweater. At 6:23 pm, Naomi pairs hers with mismatched socks in petal pink and melon. Delightful.
7:23 pm; supper’s done, homework and piano practice are in full swing, Sam and Naomi head up stairs to get their jammies on. Except Naomi returns minutes later wearing an Ellynne- era checked fleece, H&M jeans, and her luggage, once again. If I didn’t know better, I’d guess she was running away. Look closely at her fashionable pin boasting the words, “Student Council.” Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize.
Finally, she finds her pink printed sleeper, and calls it a day. A special thanks to Aunt Laura, Aunt Mieke, and Aunt Beth, for the hours of entertainment their hand-me-downs provide each day!
I think I should go through Samantha’s drawers for you and see what else she can use for her fashion shows…she might get a few more outfits on because it clearly looks like she did’t change enough for one day
love her and her high stylin’ fashions…i’m sure “vogue” will be calling her soon!..thank you for sharing your stories with us…
